How do builders test their exteriors?

Ever wonder how builders and architects make sure you stay warm and dry when the weather outside gets kind of rough? Neither did I until I ran across this facility in Carrollton, TX back in 2006. Welcome to Construction Consulting Laboratory.

Just down the street from Woot’s new (at the time) headquarters was this strange looking building. So weird that I stopped to take some pictures. The sides of the building looked strange enough, but just look at those big honking aircraft engines, especially the radial one! I wish I had timed it better so I could be there during a test, but you can’t have everything.
